Posture and Pilates

We held a fantastic Posture and Pilates Workshop on Monday 11th October. This was a workshop where we spent time analysing clients postures and talking about some reasons behind those posture types. We then worked through simple exercises to help correct and re-align our posture, working on areas of weakness and areas to improve mobility and strength.

Aqua Bootcamp

Aqua Bootcamp on a Tuesday at 7pm is a great water resistance class. It’s low impact on joints and offers support in the water. Work at your own level. Great aerobic workout and and an excellent way to tone up. You can book online or with Reception

Cxworx / Core Training
This class is a 30 minute programme designed to work the core, using bands and weight plates. This class has you working in all three planes of movement, forward and backwards, rotational and laterally. Very few exercise activities work in all three dimensions, especially running and cycling. So this is the perfect class to help maintain great function and help with performance. This class works all areas of the core and includes shoulder strength, glute strength and pelvic stability. You can book online or with Reception

Motivational Members

Our Members are doing some wonderful things for charity at the moment! On Sunday 1st September Angie Archer, Jane Ibbett and our Lifeguard David completed a charity swim/power walk to raise funds for Angies son Carl who recently passed away at the age of 34. They have raised over £2000 by doing the swim. Well done!!

This September, Trevor Dutton and his wife Julie embarked on a challenge to hike 55km in Iceland over three days in support of the Love Hope Strength Foundation. They took on this challenge to raise awareness of the work of LHS, encourage others to get on the list and hopefully raise funds. Trevor said ‘The challenge was even tougher than expected as we had blizzard conditions for a lot of the first day and ended up being on the trail for more than 13 hours, finishing in the dark – with a boots-off crossing of an icy river!’ Their company have covered all the costs of the trip so every penny raised will go to the work of the charity. For more information on what they are doing and the work of the charity please take a look at their JustGiving page:

Sophie Goonewardane Brown will be doing a mile swim in aid of MND during October Half Term on Wednesday 30th between 3pm & 6pm. A very close friend of their family has been diagnosed with
Motor Neurone Disease (MND), so Sophie and her parents have decided to do a Triathlon. Walter, Sophie’s dad hasn’t been on his bike since having a heart attack, but is getting back in the saddle! Sophie is doing her mile swim which is twice as long as she’s swam before and Alison, Sophie’s mum has signed up to do 10 x 10k races!

To support her and the charity we have decided to put on a long swim for all our swim school children. It’s £5 to take part and all the money raised will go to MND. If you would like to take part then please contact Laura on [email protected] or 07866 360 825
