Your Health Club Update - October

Tuesday 11th October 2022

As we move into autumn and the nights start to draw in, I hope you are still making the most of the club and all it has to offer.

Coming up very soon is our fantastic fireworks night on Friday 28th October! With food stalls, entertainment, bouncy castles and more, our annual firework display is always a night to remember for the whole family. The last few remaining tickets can be snapped up here

Christmas is also just around the corner, so don’t forget to book tickets for our fabulously festive events before they sell out. We’ve got lots of other exciting events planned over the next few weeks to keep you entertained as the weather turns colder.

From a new and improved timetable to a beautifully refurbished wet spa area, we are extremely happy to share our latest club updates with you.

What’s new this Month

It’s been fantastic to see the transformation of our spa area, which is now back open after some exciting refurbishments. The sauna has been fitted with new wooden benches and the steam room has been completely refitted and is looking much more modern, as I hope you’ll agree. The feature shower also has a new look and lighting system, which is really handy. The hydro pool was also refurbished, which now operates on a movement sensor to operate the bubbles. All you need to do is walk into the pool and the bubbles will activate - no need to press the button anymore! We hope you make use of these improvements to our spa area and enjoy them for many years to come.

New Class Timetable

We recently launched our new class timetable!

We now have Box back at 8.30am every Wednesday morning. BUT why not get in early and join us for Ride Rhythm at 8:00am for 30 minutes?

We have a new class called BLAST! Step back into time with pure aerobic moves and embrace cardio bursts with body weight, movement drills or plyo work. This workout is perfect to improve cardiovascular fitness and stamina. This is an energetic workout that's all aerobic. Come and give it a try on Thursdays at 7:30pm.

Our lovely instructors will be launching the new Les Mills classes over the next few weeks. Both Nikki and Anita launched Body Attack 117 and Body Pump 122. Take a look at those that were part of the Body Pump launch.

You can join Katya every Saturday at 12pm for Zumba. We have also added Ride Race at 4pm on a Saturday followed by Les Mills Body Pump at 5pm.

If you don't like working out on your own or aren't really into the gym, our classes are perfect for you. Check out our timetable online: https://www.thewarwickshire.com/health-and-fitness/classes/

Gym Team News

This month in the gym at the Warwickshire we celebrated National Fitness Day on 21st September with a staff vs members Tug of War! Can you guess who won? Ani performed a Functional Circuit Class which was very beneficial. We ended with The National Fitness Day Challenge, with some fantastic planking efforts, and asked our members what fitness meant to them.

If you're feeling a bit on the heavier side after your all-inclusive summer holiday, get yourself booked in with one of our Personal Trainers. They will be able to help you get those pounds off! After all, Christmas isn't too far away. Interesting fact - on Christmas day alone, a person consumes an average of 7000 calories! Get in touch with our trainers and they will get you booked in for a consultation. Various blocks are available.

Staying fit and healthy this autumn

Establish Your Return To Work Or School Routine

Some of you may have become accustomed to extra hours of sleep and waking up right before work or the start of classes. Establish your new routine early and train your mind and body to mirror your new schedule. This way, you’ll have time to adapt your pace to the change.

Drink Up

One way to keep your mood and productivity up, whether you’re working from home or onsite, is to hydrate regularly. This will help you be more active and avoid feeling sluggish and irritable. Bring a large water bottle to work or school so you can keep track of your water consumption for the day.

Go For A Daily Family Walk

Head out for a family walk before or after dinner at a nearby park, even if it is just for 20 minutes - you might end up engaging in a fun game.

Get Ready The Night Before

The night before, choose your clothes and pack your stuff. This will save you a significant amount of time in the morning, allowing you to sleep longer or perhaps have a full breakfast.

Plan Active Weekend Outings

Weekends provide many families with the time required to go further afield. Consider using this time to explore a new area to make movement more fun and interesting. Use this unstructured part of your week to rekindle the feeling of summer and as a time to tire out every member of your family so that you can start the school and work week off fresh.

Eat Well

When getting back to school and work we tend to eat more unhealthy foods mostly for convenience. A nutritious diet is the foundation of a good way of life. Healthy food is substantially better for your brain and a much more sustainable energy source that your body can use up slowly. Consume lots of fibre as well as a good mix of fats, proteins, and carbs.

Crèche news

On Monday 12th September we celebrated National Milkshake Day. The kids created their own milkshake designs with sprinkles, marshmallows, fruit and chocolates. It was a real treat.

We have planned a great week full of activities for the kids to keep busy during October half term. We have also introduced a new Arts and Crafts class on Saturdays at 10:30am. Bookings are essential via the club company app as spaces are limited.
